My Dear Mother taught me: ๐ฅ A good kishke needs to beโฆ ๐ด Red like uncel Esav ๐ฏ Sweet like Zeidy Yaakov ๐โโ๏ธ Beautiful like Mama Rochel ๐ง And salty like Mama Leahโs tears โฆso feel free to add 1 tbsp of sugar ๐ โจ Homemade Kishka for the Cholent! โจ ๐ฅฃ Mix together: โข 1 cup flour โข 1/2 cup oil โข 1/4 cup water โข 1 tbsp paprika โข 1 tsp salt โข 1 tsp garlic powder โข 1/4 tsp black pepper โข (Optional ๐) 1 tbsp sugar ๐ Mix well and knead for a couple minutes. ๐ฅค Shaping tip: Line a tall round cup with a plastic bag, press the dough inside, and freeze for about 2 hours (or until youโre ready to cook). ๐ฅ Once itโs stiff enough, place the kishka into the cholent or directly into boiling water. โณ Cook at least 2 hours โ but a 24-hour cholent cook gives you the absolute best kishka ever ๐
