Note: The challah must be dry. Use air-dried or oven-dried challah cubes. Ingredients • 800g very dry challah or bread (about 1 large challah), cut into cubes • 1 large onion, diced • 7–10 cloves garlic, chopped • 5 eggs • 1 cup oil • 4 cups water •1 1/2 tsp salt Instructions 1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). 2. Place the very dry challah cubes in a large bowl. 3. In another bowl, mix the eggs, oil, water, diced onion, and chopped garlic. 4. Pour the mixture over the challah cubes. 5. Let it soak for about 30 minutes so the dry challah absorbs the liquid. 6. Transfer everything into a greased baking pan. 7. Bake at 350°F for about 1 hour, until set and lightly browned on top.
