Instead, He sees the yearning, the effort, and the love. The Rebbe reads the halacha of בעליו עמו לא ישלם as a key to teshuvah: when the Master is “with you,” even your failures don’t define you. What matters most is whether your heart wants to be on the path of טוב, and whether mitzvot excite you enough to awaken the friendship of the King—ותרועת מלך בו.
