Why this site exists
VideoVinkel started because the videos people actually want — a shiur from a Rav you trust, that chasunah clip everyone is sharing, a song from a new album, a Yiddish lecture from years ago — are surprisingly hard to find. YouTube has all of it, but the algorithm has its own ideas about what to show you. This is meant to be a quieter way to browse.
On content standards
We are committed to keeping VideoVinkel a kosher and appropriate platform. Channels and videos are reviewed before they go up, with attention to modesty and propriety, so that what you find here is in line with the values of the community we serve.
Because of the sheer amount of content moving through the site, something that doesn't fully meet that standard can occasionally slip through. If you come across a video that feels inappropriate or out of place, please report it — every report comes straight to us, the video is reviewed, and anything that shouldn't be here is removed. Your feedback is the single biggest reason the review process keeps getting better.
A few more honest things
The videos aren't ours. They belong to the creators who uploaded them, and they play through YouTube's own player. Views and ad revenue go to the people who made the content. We never set out to replace anyone — we just wanted a better front door.
The contact form goes to a real inbox. Write to us and you'll get a reply, usually quickly. If something is wrong on a video page, a channel is missing, or a creator wants their content removed, that's the place to say it.
Nothing about you is sold. We keep track of which videos are popular and which channels get watched so that trending and recommendations actually work. That's it. The Privacy Policy has the full list.
Channels are added because people ask. Almost every channel on the site is here because a viewer (or sometimes a creator) pointed us to it. If your favorite is missing, send it over.
We will get things wrong. A video will be miscategorized. A bug will slip through. A channel update will go missing for a day. When that happens, tell us — we'd rather know.
That's the whole thing. If any of this stops being true, hold us to it.
