Germany: Suspect Shot During Attempted Bank Robbery In Berlin

One suspect was shot by a money courier in a Deutsche Bank branch in Berlin on Wednesday, police say, after an attempted robbery. Heavily armed police could be seen outside the bank as they secured the area and investigated the crime. According to police spokesperson Martin Stralau, at around 10:30 local time (08:30 GMT) "the Deutsche Bank in the Gropius Passage was raided. Two perpetrators assaulted a money courier with irritant gas. The money courier then fired his weapon which injured one of the perpetrators, who is now being handled in a hospital and was arrested by us."
