An elementary school in #BneiBrak, east of Tel Aviv, has begun its preparations for the return of pupils to school after as Israel contemplates reopening some schools on May 3, footage from Tuesday shows.
While the Israeli government is discussing how lessons will resume, the principal and staff at Boston Torah Talmud School have placed plastic partitions around desks to separate children and reduce the risks of infections.
Principal Nathan Foxbromer explained the partitions were the best solution the school could offer to allow students to make a safe return to school.
"Those partitions are made of polycarbonate, they protect students from air passing from one to another and it also prevents them from touching each other," he said. Teachers would also be protected while giving their lessons, he added.
According to figures released by the Johns Hopkins University, Israel has 15,589 confirmed cases and 208 deaths from COVID-19 as of Tuesday.
