Chanukah comes to teach me that miracles are not only about then. They are about now. בזמן הזה. In this very time. In this exact moment of my life.
There are places that feel sealed shut. Situations that seem beyond nature, beyond hope, beyond imagination. Standing by the candles on the seventh night, I remember that Chanukah once laughed in the face of what seemed possible.
Tonight I pray that the light of Chanukah penetrate every place in my life that feels stuck, painful, or impossible, and remind me that what I can’t yet imagine is never the final word.
