Hector L. Soto Memorial Highway Sign Unveiled in Haverstraw

The new Hector L. Soto Memorial Highway sign was unveiled this afternoon at the corner of Route 202 and Rosman Road, marking a moment of recognition for a figure well remembered in the Haverstraw community. Local officials joined the Soto family for the brief ceremony. Senator Bill Weber, Assemblyman Patrick Carroll, and Haverstraw Supervisor Howard Phillips stood alongside relatives as the covering was lifted from the sign, officially naming the roadway in Hector L. Soto’s memory. Soto served in the United States Air Force before beginning a 36 year career with the Haverstraw Police Department, where he worked his way from patrol to detective. Today’s unveiling placed his name on a well traveled stretch of Route 202, creating a lasting reminder of his decades of service
