A major fire broke out at 927 Grand Street near Catherine Street in Williamsburg, drawing a heavy response from FDNY and multiple emergency service agencies.
The blaze quickly intensified into a third alarm fire, with flames erupting from the first and second floor of a three-story residential building. The fire tore through parts of the building, leading to a partial collapse of the structure as firefighters worked to bring it under control.
As crews battled the heavy fire conditions, the situation escalated and was upgraded to a fourth alarm, bringing in additional units and manpower to assist at the scene. In total, 74 units with over 230 fire and EMS personnel responded to the incident.
