חיבר אותה המלחין והיוצר רבי ישראל שטיינפרעס ז"ל, מי שכונה בפי 'ר' ישראל גאב'ע' – רבי ישראל הגבאי – על שם היותו משמש בקודש אצל האדמו"ר רבי חיים מאנטניא, אחיו של ה'אהבת ישראל' מוזי'ניץ, מכאן עשתה היצירה את דרכה לחצרות ויז'ניץ לדורותיהן.
קטע הוולס האחרון,שהושר בחצרות סקולען, הפך לחלק בלתי נפרד מסוף יצירה זאת.
בדינר השנתי 2018 של ארגון ילדי במונטריאל שבקנדה ארגון המוקדש לסיוע לילדים למצות את מלוא הפוטנציאל שלהם מבצע "מוטי שטיינמץ" לראשונה בעיבוד ותיזמור מיוחד של המנצח "רובי בנט" עם תזמורת מורחבת ומקהלת זמרה המקומית.
