The Ve’hi She’amda piyut (liturgical poem) has been a highlight of The Pesach Seder and a rallying cry for The Jewish People for over 1000 years . This joyous folk-inspired version brings it right into the 21st century while maintaining the authenticity of the depth and meaning of the words. Akiva Zneimer is a London based singer-songwriter and artist who crafts heartfelt and hopeful songs with a judaic authenticity. He has dubbed his sound as ‘yidfolk’, a combination of Carlebachian Melodies and modern folk influences. Ve’hi She’amda is his debut music video in which he is joined by Noam Barkany on vocals and guitar and Shimmy Hambling on percussion.
