Violent clashes erupted between the police and ultra-Orthodox Jews who had gathered for prayers in defiance of lockdown rules, in the city of Bnei Brak on Sunday. Police arrested a dozen individuals. Worshippers were seen resisting arrest, with one individual ending up being examined by medics. Hundreds of devotees violated restrictions on gatherings in enclosed spaces. According to the police, most of them were not wearing masks nor adhering to social distancing rules. Tensions escalated when the police began handing out fines.
