This song is a song of the night,
The words are taken from the beginning passages of the nightly prayer,
“Let us sing to G-d, all those who serve G-d”
In the service of G-d, we are all equal, in the sense that we are all in movement, we might be on different parts of the mountain, but we are all climbers upon a mountain that cannot be scaled.
We can therefore pray, even for those who we feel are on a higher position than we are.
This is a song that contains my prayer.
LYRICS
Oh big brother please don’t lie
Stay free from the other side
Oh big brother please don’t change
Same face till the very end.
What will push you might a psalm
And they push you write a song
What will will push you right
You run away into the light
Shir lemaalot hinei barchu et Hashem
Kol avdai Hashem sinu rah
Shomer nafshot chassidav
Oh big brother please don’t leave
Stay true to your energy
Oh big brother can’t you see,
Father plays the game of hide and seek,
What will push you all along
On the path of right from wrong
What will push you right
A candle held up in the night
Shir lemaalot hinei barchu et Hashem
Kol avdai Hashem sinu rah
Shomer nafshot chassidav
Ureeh im derech otzev bi
Unecheini bederech oilam
And you’ll see if the path is sad for me and you’ll place me on the path of eternity.
