Former President Trump’s Historic Visit to the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s Ohel on Hamas Attack Anniversary
Description
In a significant show of solidarity with Jewish communities, former President Donald Trump visited the Ohel of the Lubavitcher Rebbe on the one-year anniversary of the devastating Hamas attack on southern Israel. Donning a yarmulke, Trump offered a heartfelt prayer, placed a symbolic stone on the Rebbe’s gravesite, and made a charitable donation, paying tribute to Jewish traditions. Accompanying him were the family of Edan Alexander, a young hostage currently held by terrorists in Gaza, along with Auschwitz survivor Jerry Wartski and two Jewish college students who have faced antisemitism on campus. Trump’s visit holds deep personal significance, as his daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner have made similar visits to the Ohel before his presidential campaigns. After meeting with Chabad-Lubavitch leaders and receiving a warm welcome from Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky, who served the Lubavitcher Rebbe for over 40 years, Trump took a few moments to reflect and pray in the mausoleum. The visit comes after a planned stop at a Williamsburg restaurant was cancelled due to the passing of its owner. Security at the Ohel was extremely tight following a recent assassination attempt on Trump’s life in Florida. After his visit, Trump is expected to return to Florida for a memorial event honoring the victims of the October 7 Hamas attack, continuing his engagement with key moments of support for the Jewish community during this solemn time.
