I have sung over 30 years. My first was `rak al avinu`
That was the breakthrough with compositions from ruvi banet, performing with amit listvand.
The truth is that already many years before this i sang at many weddings, but what i thought i knew, when i started the first recording i realised i did not know.

`keayol tarog` was like a new revelation` and also because of the kid, and the good choice of the composer
I in fact sang before 35 years with shlomo carlebach, i met him i sang with him at weddings etc, but i did not understand what is a song, i simply did not understand.
He said to me, i have good songs, if you bring out a recording i will give you songs . I said nobody would believe me, so I said to shlomo no thanks but let us stay friends.
Obviously today i regret it.
When i started the first casette with ruvi barnett, and he came out with keayol tarog i still did not understand what a good song, and i did not want the song, i said to ruvi i am not feeling the song i did not know how to identify. i must admit.
And ruvi said to me listen, this is your postage stamp and you are going to perform it. He knew, he said it would be a song which would pave the way.
But then there is the question why did he not name the disc `keayol tarog` ,
it was because yishai lapidot came to me with the song `rak al avinu` and the message of rak al avinu obviously is very strong, especially because in english it sounds like `rock`
So we bought this message and that is what i called the tape, but many people still asked why we did not call it keayol tarog....
