In this episode of Level Up Road Trips, I travel from Egypt deep into Yemen searching for the forgotten history of Yemen’s Jewish communities. What started as a historical exploration quickly turned into one of the most intense and unpredictable trips I have ever experienced. From landing in Cairo to arriving in Seiyun, I begin exploring ancient cities that once had vibrant Jewish life. I visit the incredible mud-brick skyline of Shibam, often called the “Manhattan of the Desert,” and walk through the historic streets of Seiyun and Tarim. But the trip takes a dramatic turn. Walking through Yemen with my visible Jewish look suddenly starts attracting attention. Tension builds, questions start coming, and the situation slowly becomes more complicated than I expected.
