Multiple fire departments battled a large structure fire on Samsondale Avenue in West Haverstraw, with crews from Stony Point, West Haverstraw, Haverstraw, Hillcrest, and West Nyack Fire Departments on scene alongside Haverstraw Police and Haverstraw EMS, as the blaze intensified and spread into heavy surrounding brush, raising concerns that the fire was becoming increasingly difficult to contain while firefighters continued aggressive efforts to bring it under control.
