Loved singing this for a fellow Gibraltarian today. Mazal Tov to Massias and Peyser families, was a wonderful wedding. Unfortunately the recording is missing the first stanza but I hope you enjoy! This poem, sung to this day at wedding ceremonies in Gibraltar to accompany the bride’s arrival under the wedding canopy, was written by Rabbi Shelomo Ibn Gabirol (also known as Avicebron), a brilliant Hebrew poet and Jewish philosopher born in Malaga c. 1021 CE ; died c. 1058 CE in Valencia.
