Songs of Rabbi Michel Twerski of Milwaukee
Description
It is a great pleasure to present this new medley of nigunim by Rabbi Michel Twerski shlit”a, beautifully sung by the talented Reb Mordechai V. Landau, with masterful arrangements by Reb Chaim Yitzchok Goldman. We hope you enjoy and are inspired by the Rebbe's music. The medley opens with “Ana Avda”, a declaration of identity: this is who I am, and this is who I aspire to become. It expresses the truth that no moment of life stands outside a Jew’s relationship with Hashem and His Torah. From that foundation emerges “Yehay Raava”, a gentle tefillah that Hashem open our hearts to deeply feel His Torah. Through experiencing the essence and kedusha of Torah, every lack finds its true fulfillment, and the heart itself becomes capable of receiving goodness, life, and peace. The medley then blossoms into “V’nismach”, where Torah and mitzvos become the source of meaning, purpose, and vitality in every day of life. The melody gives voice to the exaltation of a soul that lives with Torah with every breath, by day and by night. Simcha itself becomes central, both as a sign of deep spiritual connection and a pathway toward attaining it. That joy finally erupts in “Ashrechu Yisroel”, an exuberant call to recognize the immeasurable fortune of belonging to Hashem and His Torah. The nigun rekindles feelings of privilege and the delight of divine service. And as the medley culminates in the exhilaration of a people bound forever to the Creator and to His Torah, rejoicing in a treasure beyond measure, it leaves you with the invitation and the space to make the nigun your own…and to keep on dancing!
