JERUSALEM, ISRAEL - OCTOBER 3, 2012 - Thousands of people gathered from all over Eretz Yisrael and the world to the Kosel on the second day of chol hamoed sukkos in Israel for birchas kohanim. Chief Rabbis Yona Metzger and Rabbi Shlomo Amar led the brichas kohanim, flanked by the Rabbi Rabinovich of the Kosel and Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat. Security forces were on high alert as they limited and coordinated both vehicular and foot traffic in the area to ensure that people would be able to get to and from the Kosel in a safe and timely manner.
