The song “Akeida” combines the raw emotion of a lyric first composed to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the Holocaust with the silky sweetness of Yisroel Werdyger’s voice. Akeida, written by veteran composer Yossi Green, was first sung in 1993 in Warsaw in front of a prominent audience who had come from around the world to mark 50 years since the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. The original arrangement was written by Shua Fried, and was recorded as part of Yisroel Werdyger's album, Du Voint A Yid, which was released in November of 2019.
