When Williamsburg Shomrim received a call on Friday, September 26th, just a couple of hours before the zman, that a plane carrying almost 200 Jewish people would be arriving less than an hour before Shabbos, we sprang into action to make sure these people were not stuck in the airport for the entire weekend. Working hand in hand with the Port Authority Police, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the airline, and the ground crew, every detail was coordinated to ensure a smooth arrival. At the same time, in Williamsburg, we worked closely with the NYPD and Chaveirim to make sure transportation and accommodations were arranged so that everyone could properly prepare for Shabbos.
