Firefighters were on the scene of a store fire on 6th Avenue and 56th Street, on Thursday early morning.
The fire broke out on the first floor Deli, in a four story building, which houses apartments on the upper floors.
Police and firefighters safely evacuated the residents – including small children – from the apartments above the fire.
After approximately an hour, firefighters placed the fire under control. No injuries were reported.
