Jerusalem Municipality Removes Unauthorized and Dangerous Bonfires Ahead of Lag Ba'Omer

JERUSALEM, ISRAEL - MAY 13, 2014 As the lag ba'omer holiday approaches, children of all ages can be seen scurrying around the city collecting wood and other burnable objects for their bonfires. This year the Jerusalem Municipality is launching a pilot program to coordinate set locations for the bonfires and has even appointed crews to collect wood to deposit at those locations as well as remove wood and objects from locations that they deem unauthorized or dangerous, much to the chagrin of local children. (YWN ISRAEL DESK) כחג ל"ג בעומר מתקרב, ילדים בכל הגילים ניתן לראות מתרוצצים סביב עץ איסוף העיר ואובייקטים אחרים לבערה למדורותיהם. בשנה זו עיריית ירושלים משיקה תכנית פיילוט לתאם מקומות קבועים למדורות ואפילו מינתה צוותי לאסוף עצים להפקיד במקומות אלה, כמו גם להסיר עץ וחפצים במקומות שהם רואים לא מורשה או מסוכן, למורת הרוח מ ילדים מקומיים.
