A quiet summer Sunday morning in Boro Park turned chaotic when a 15-passenger van ran a red light at 16th Avenue and 51st Street, slamming into a blue minivan carrying a Jewish family.
The force of the collision sent the van spiraling out of control, where it plowed directly into Mittelmans Grocery, causing severe damage to the storefront. Shelves toppled and glass shattered as the vehicle came to a halt inside the shop.
Three people from the minivan, 2 kids and 1 adult, were injured in the incident and were transported by Hatzolah to a local hospital for treatment. Thankfully, none of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening
