Tazria words (02): Nega (Yeshivas Achei Temimim 5783/ 2023) Posted: April 20, 2023 Tazria words (02): Nega (Yeshivas Achei Temimim 5783/ 2023). This class explains only ONE word: the Hebrew word נגע (Nega) which is really broader than Tzara’as, as it encompasses all skin and surface wounds (including Tzara’as). The Kabbalah (קהלת יעקב) explains it various ways that all basically say, that it is something that has fallen from very high and therefore falls very low. Chassidus (is more involved (see ספר הליקוטים דא”ח צ”צ ועוד)) explains that in it’s root it is ענג (pleasure) and then it judges like Chochma, soft and pleasant. When the Chochma is lacking the judgement hurts, but even that is not Tzara’as. Only when one is missing Chochma but near Chochma (and ‘should know’ better) is it Tamei; this is the proximity to the Kohen who is the only one that can declare this Tuma’a.
