A overview on the Haggadah from the beginning till Maschil BiGnus , Rabbi Yossi Paltiel - 5786
Description
This (Seminary Beis) class on the preparation for the seders was a discussion on the Haggadah. [We did not get that far, but what we covered was alive]. We discussed (1) Biur Chametz, the Bracha on Biur Chametz and what Biur Chametz really is all about. (2) We further discussed that burning the Chametz is as much a mystical thing as it is a halachic thing. We're getting rid of all Klipa, because on Pesach we can only have faith and simplicity and acceptance. Ga’ava and intelligence are not Pesach connected, because Pesach we were all born and when we were first born, we are supposed to be simple. (3) We discussed the Korban Pesach and when it's said and so on. (4) We also discussed the reason why we say all the fifteen words connected to the Seder of Pesach, Kadesh, Urchatz and so forth, because Pesach in particular, needs Seder for various reasons, including the fact that since it's about Yetzias Mitzrayim which is so transcendent, we need to bring order to that. (5) We talked a little bit about Kiddush and the question of woman saying Kiddush for themselves (as one of the 4 cups). (6) We talked about washing hands and NOT making a Bracha and Karpas. (7) We talked about Yachatz and the idea that the whole Seder is set on the broken piece, Ani Darko BiPrusa עני דרכו בפרוסה. (8) And then we went on to discuss the second cup of wine, which normally is associated with benching and here it's being poured before we even ate, which makes the child ask the four questions. (9) And then we answer the child, by introducing to the theme מתחילין בגנות ומסיימין בשבח. We actually go through all three opinions. A. We begin with Avadim Hayinu, which is probably the Halachic opinion that we were slaves in Egypt and were redeemed, that's reason enough for the Seder. B. Then we begin, continue with the first reason, the earliest gnai of all, which is מתחילה עובדי עבודה זרה היו אבותינו, תרח אבי אברהם... ויעבדו אלוקים אחרים , before Avraham Avinu we were idolaters. C. And we leave the middle one, ארמי אובד אבי Arami Oved Avi for last; because that's the one we're actually going to study and explore.
