When “Efen Owf” by DJ Shmuli Landau and Sruly Green was released, I was navigating real challenges and searching for clarity. From the moment I heard it Sruly’s magical voice, the heartfelt lyrics, and the powerful beat Shmuli produced the song touched my heart and soul. It felt like more than music. It felt like a wake-up call. I found myself listening to it constantly. Walking through the park, feeling every word as if I were speaking directly to Hashem. Playing it on repeat on my way to pray at the Kotel, connecting to it like a tefillah literally until I reached the holy wall. It became my way of asking Hashem to open doors, to open my heart, and to guide me forward. As an artist, when music moves me that deeply, it naturally becomes part of me. I started mumbling my own words along with Sruly’s, adding my own emotions, thoughts, and prayers. Slowly, those moments turned into something new my own expression, shaped by my experiences, my voice, and the emotions this song awakened in me. “Open Up” is not a copy it is a transformation. A piece that was inspired by a masterpiece, but rebuilt through my own lens, sound, and journey.
