Bike4Kef Bikeathon 2016
Description
Over a hundred and thirty riders participated in Bike4Kef 2016, raising over £375,000.00 for Kef, a non-profit orgniniaztion providing support and fun to children and young adults with special needs This was Kef’s third bikeathon and its biggest one yet, with riders leaving NW London on Sunday and riding 35km to Windsor, an overnight stay with a full evening program and a beautifully catered buffet dinner, and then riding 100km on Monday and arriving to cheers and excitement, led by one of the Kef children on his especially modified bike followed by an amazing carnival attended by over 3,500 people. As one rider put it; “It is truly astonishing and I don’t think this can be overstated, that in times of such community disparity, you successfully bring together fat or thin, tall or short, beard or no beard, kuppel or kippa, jeans or black trousers, crocs or shabbos shoes, ashkenazi or sefardi, full carbon or mountain bike, professional or first time riders, and all are united, sitting, eating, davening, laughing, crying, riding, suffering and finishing together for KEF, truly amazing!!!"
