A burning car on 45th Street between 14th and 15th Avenues exploded Wednesday evening.
The cause of the fire is unknown. Firefighters were forewarned that the car may explode. Heavy smoke filled the street when the car erupted in a huge ball of flames. Crowds of bystanders watched the action as firefighters worked to keep the fire under control and extinguish the flames. No injuries were reported.
