Earlier today, a Shomrim volunteer on patrol spotted individuals who matched the suspects’ description. They were acting suspiciously and constantly looking behind them. Additional volunteers joined the patrol and began quietly following from a distance. The suspects were then seen approaching another victim. Shomrim volunteers witnessed the robbery happen in real time from the fake question to the hug to the theft and immediately alerted the NYPD. Officers responded within moments, arriving before the suspects could leave the area. All three were taken into custody at the scene. Stolen jewelry was found on them and returned to the victim. Thanks to the sharp eyes of Shomrim and the quick response by the NYPD, a group of active street robbers was caught in the act before they could target more people.
