Staying Present When It’s Uncomfortable
Most of us don’t struggle because we don’t know what to do.
We struggle because when things feel uncomfortable, unclear, or heavy — we pull away.
We distract.
We shut down.
We push ourselves.
Or we wait for the feeling to pass.
In this Wednesday night class, we explored what it actually means to stay present when it’s uncomfortable — without forcing, fixing, or getting stuck in our feelings.
This class is about:
why discomfort often leads to avoidance or shutdown
the difference between staying and stalling
how long to sit with a feeling — and when it’s time to move
why “just do it” often backfires
how small, conscious steps build real capacity over time
We discussed the idea that:
presence without movement can become paralysis
movement without presence becomes force
and real growth happens when we learn to stay just long enough to regain choice
This is not a motivation talk.
It’s about learning how to stay with yourself when things are uncomfortable — and then take one honest step forward.
If you’ve ever felt stuck, lost, or disconnected from yourself, this conversation is for you.
