Yosef Zev Braver with a New Single: "Shefele"

Singer Yosef Zev Braver was always fascinated by the story of how Moshe Rabeinu was chosen by Hashem to lead Klal Yisroel, after he showed a tremendous amount of empathy and care to the Sheep that abandoned the flock under the watch of Moses who was the shepherd of his father-in-law Jethro the Midianite.

Around 7 years ago, it was the first year that Yosef Zev was living in Jerusalem he was introduced to Bentzi German, Bentzi modestly played to him this song that he has composed while he became very emotional after a talk with his friend who was lost while looking for meaning and direction in life. "I was then a young mentor who worked with teenagers at risk who were also lost and looking for answers on what life is all about. So I was deeply connected to the depth of Bentzi's message" says Yosef Zev.

Then he went on to get this song arranged by Musical Arranger & Conductor Tuli Singer from London. The music, and concept were perfect, it was just missing the perfect lyrics that should convey the message that I felt Bentzi was trying to say.

The song was sitting and gathering dust in a drawer for a few years waiting for its final lyrics to convey the songs message, as Yosef Zev knew he wasn't going to release it only when he has the perfect lyrics.

Then came in the picture the Talented Producer Yossi Shick, who decided to make it his personal mission to get this song out to the world, so he brought the perfect lyrics from a dear friend Yanky Rubin from Canada.

"Today on the day of the 212'th Yurtzeit of Rabeinu Nachman of Breslov and Ushpizin D'Moshe I feel honored and privileged to bring you my newest song "Shefele" which just speaks for itself.

הזמר והיוצר יוסף זאב בראווער היה תמיד מוקסם מהסיפור על משה רבינו, איך נבחר על ידי הקב״ה להנהיג את ישראל כמי שגילה מידה עצומה של אכפתיות ורחמנות לכבשה אחת שנטשה את העדר במשמרתו של משה שהיה רועה הצאן של חותנו יתרו המדייני.

לפני שבע שנים ארז יוסף זאב את מיטלטליו ועבר עם בני משפחתו להתגורר בירושלים. שם הוא הכיר את בנצי גרמן שהשמיע לו את השיר הזה שהלחין בעודו נרגש מאד משיחה שקיים עם חברו שסיפר לו כמה הוא חש אבוד ושרוי בשיאו של חיפוש אחר משמעות וכיוון בחיים. ״הייתי אז מנטור צעיר שעבד עם בני נוער בסיכון שחלקם הלכו לאיבוד וחיפשו פשר לחיים״, מספר יוסף זאב. ״התחברתי עמוקות לעומק המסר של בנצי".

בראווער לקח את השיר ועיבד אותו יחד עם המעבד המוזיקלי והמנצח נפתלי זינגר מלונדון. המוזיקה והקונספט היו מושלמים עבורו ורק חסרו המילים שבהן שאף להעביר את המסר הסמוי והמופלא שבנצי ביקש להעביר.

כעבור זמן שיתף בראווער את המפיק המוכשר יוסי שיק והכניסו לאווירה. שיק הוסיף טעם לסיפור במילים שכתב חברו יענקי רובין מקנדה.

"היום, יום ההילולא ה-212 של רבינו נחמן מברסלב ויום האושפיזין דמשה רבינו״, משתף בראווער, ״אני מרגיש כבוד וזכות להציג בפניכם את השיר החדש שלי ׳שעפעלע׳ שפשוט מדבר בעד עצמו״.

אני רוצה להודות לכל החברים הכישרוניים המדהימים שהיו מעורבים בשיר הזה בדרכים רבות ושונות במהלך השנים. להזכיר כמה שמות: נחמן לנגר, יענקי כהן, יענקי ברוין, מ.ב. ועוד.

במיוחד אוקיר תודה לחברי היקר חיים גוטסמן. מעבר למיקס המושלם הוא גם השקיע בטוב לבו את כל הנשמה, ניהל את ההפקה הטכנית והוסיף את הטאץ' הפרפקציוניסטי שלו גם לעיבודים.
