The suspect, Arthur Jack, attempted a reckless escape by jumping onto elevated subway tracks — but his run didn’t last long.

He was followed by Boro Park Shomrim, who maintained visual contact while coordinating with the NYPD. Officers quickly responded and took Jack into custody.

Police say Jack is a career criminal with a lengthy record, including multiple burglary arrests. This incident marks his 18th arrest overall. He previously served 10 years in state prison on burglary charges and was released in 2023.

Once again, thanks to the swift actions of Shomrim and law enforcement, the suspect was stopped — proving how community vigilance makes a real difference.

As 2025 comes to an end, Boro Park Shomrim has responded to over 12,000 calls, including:

• 105 assaults
• 2,951 reports of suspicious activity
• 654 larcenies
• 342 disputes
• 224 motor vehicle accidents
• 186 details and crowd control assignments
• 24 robberies
• 62 graffiti incidents
• And most notably, assistance in the arrest of 286 individuals

In addition, Shomrim helped reunite 516 missing people with their families. Special thanks go to the 24 dedicated dispatchers who answered these calls, keeping the community connected and safe.
